Blank BJD hoarder attempting reform

For most of my life, I didn't have any interest in dolls. Hated them as a young child in fact (I loved animals, stuffed animals, collected animal figurines and sculpted my own toy animals out of clay- and didn't understand or much care for dolls OR people).

Around 2019 I discovered cast resin, fully posable ball-jointed artist dolls - and they quickly grew into one of the greatest obsessions of my life! They combined my long term interests in human beauty, hyperrealistic art, sculpture, painting, fiber arts and fashion into one.

But since that time, I've been kept very mentally and sometimes physically busy (I've had two children who don't like to sleep, among other things). It felt like every year I had less bandwidth to even think of starting the smallest creative projects.

My BJD collection has grown a lot over the years, and is an absolutely amazing lifetime dream of gorgeous and impressively engineered art - but so far my dolls mostly sit blank, nude and wigless. I intend to use this blog to journal each and every step as I customize and 'complete' them all.
